Don't Bother Coming to Work...Work From Home Instead

There are millions who dream of quitting their job and working from home instead, but not many actually get to do it.

In the land down under AKA Australia, some 9 to 5 workers are being told "don't bother coming to work!" They are going to get a taste of the freelance lifestyle for one day.

The 29th January to be exact, where in the city of Sydney, there are going to be strikes on the trains, trams and buses.

This will lead to chaos no doubt, and the bosses at 4 of the biggest banks have decided it just isn't going to be worth it for their employees to leave the house.

So on the 29th of January thousands of bank workers are going to be freelance for the day...working from home and setting their own hours.

Maybe some of them will get up at noon and sit around in their pyjamas all day, who could blame them? As long as they get the work done then it doesn't really matter if you ask me.

Many of the office workers may very well enjoy their day as a work from home freelancer, to the point where they decide it should be a career change they would like to make.

"I quit" is the first words they will say upon arriving back at work on the 30th of January, followed by "give me my Australian equivalent of the P45."

Those bosses may very well look at them in bewilderment, wondering what on earth happened over the course of one day to lead to such a change? On the 28th January they were hard working and upstanding members of the team, always willing to follow the rules and wear a suit and tie.

Then, over the course of 48 hours things completely change. Gone is the employee...say hello to the work from home freelancer.

I think we could see similar things happen right here on British shores, because as I have reported about before, strikes are becoming more common and there are predicted to be even more in 2018 and beyond.

In cities such as London, Bristol, Nottingham, Birmingham, Southampton, Ipswich and Inverness, there will come a time when bosses start to tell their workers "take the day off." This gives them a glimpse behind the curtain, so to speak, where they get to experience what it is like to be a home worker who sets their own rules.

A freelance revolution maybe, but what I do know is that more and more people are going to be working from home in 2018.

"Give me my P45," they will say, and then move boldly forward towards their house, before shutting the front door and getting to work.
